Quench

Garnier Fructis Moroccan Oil Treatment, $4.69
As I've gotten older my hair has unfortunately gotten dryer and dryer, leaving it frizzy, unmanageable, and just plain ugly.  I've actually been very kind to my hair my whole life; there was once an ombre but it has since been cut all off and that's the minor extent of my hair color history.  "OMG I'm drying up," was my first thought, but then I remembered that I'm only 25 so I stopped freaking out and began to search for a remedy.  I've tried countless products with the word "Hydrating!" on the label in my quest to quench parched locks; I've also doused my head in olive oil, committed to weekly deep conditioners, and switched to paraben and sulfate free products.  Until now NOTHING truly worked.

On Friday I randomly picked up a bottle of the Garnier Fructis Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment at the grocery store simply because it's really cheap and I liked the smell...a lot.  I was also no stranger to the whole argan oil trend that's currently running a muck, so I figured there's a good chance this product might be legit.  Oh man, it's sooooooo good.  Seriously.  Upon first use my hair felt incredibly soft and weightless.  The best part was styling it because I hardly had any frizz at all and my hair did whatever I told it to.  It just makes your hair the best possible hair it can be.  You also have options when it comes to applying this oil treatment - to damp hair, dry hair, or spike your conditioner with it.  It all works brilliantly.  Ugh, I just love when something super cheap surpasses my expectations.  My head will look crunchy no more!

Delicate

Blouse - F21; Shorts - F21; Cardigan - Thrifted; Shoes - Kohls; Socks - Kohls; Sunglasses - Steve Madden
Nude, patent loafer Mary Jane pumps....yesssss.  So much going on in one shoe, but it all fits perfectly together somehow.  I think I actually shrieked when I found these, at Kohl's of all places, because they're a spitting image of the Miu Mius I'd been coveting.  And obviously I have a penchant for wearing the wrong shoes on the wrong terrain - teetering in heels is just too much fun I suppose.  Sunday was a ridiculously gorgeous day full of all of this golden light, which is probably why I dressed for spring instead of fall.  Whoever said you can't wear white after labor day clearly never experienced a Texas autumn.

Basic

Crop top - Thrifted; Skirt - American Apparel; Necklace - H&M; Bag - F21; Boots - Topshop
This was a busy, busy day so I didn't want an outfit that was too fussy.  Since starting my vintage store I've been drawn to simplicity and comfort when it comes to dressing; sadly there's been little time for playing elaborate dress up lately so neutral basics it is.  I don't mind too much because I recently found this basic top; the most perfect basic CROP top! For like $7.  Five years ago I never ever thought I'd ever wear crop tops or high-waisted skirts, much less together.  Never say never, I suppose, because now this silhouette is all I ever want to wear.  And yep, that is a camouflage jacket I'm holding.  Too bad I didn't really get to wear it since it was 90 degrees...in October.  I have no idea what a real autumn is like, constant heat is all I know despite my coat collection.

French Quarter

New Orleans, LA October 14th - 16th, 2012
There's nothing quite like the French Quarter.  Two days of sheer decadence.  Definitely one of those vacations that warrants it's own vacation.  I want to go back again, and again, and again, and again....
